What is your return policy?
SunRise fans have proven to be extremely effective at resolving issues with heat and moisture build-up in attics of all shapes and sizes. We at Innovative Tubular Lighting, Inc. believe them to be the best value of any solar fan on the market, beyond compare. SunRise Solar, the manufacturer, warrants their solar vent fans as stated herein. For those who wish to return new, operable, uninstalled product, for whatever reason, the policy is as follows: Returns are accepted Within 30 Days
in New Condition, Less 20% Re-stocking Fee; Customer pays
Return Shipping. Please call for authorization in advance
- Toll-free 1-877-466-1551.
How would I know if I need more attic ventilation?
Signs include stifling heat when you’re in the attic; heat radiating from the ceiling, the attic access door and/or adjacent walls; blast of warm air when air conditioner comes on.
How do I know that the SunRise fan will work on my house?
If you have a sunny roof over attic space, and heat is building up in your attic, you will certainly benefit from installing one or more SunRise Solar fans. The only time we could not recommend it is if you have a very shady roof, or a very steep roof that faces North.
Does the SunRise Solar fan need to be positioned on the south side of the house?
No, all three sizes of SunRise fans have solar panels that are very responsive to ambient sunlight. Unlike some
others on the market, the SunRise does not have to be oriented with a compass, be tilted toward the sun, or have a remote panel.
How does the SunRise Solar Fan save money on utilities?
The SunRise Fan prevents heat from building up in your attic and reduces the burden on your air conditioning system, which will have a direct (and often dramatic!) impact on your cooling bill.
Are there other benefits?
For one thing, your house will be more comfortable year-round. Your roof will last longer, because ice-damming in the winter and roof-buckling in the summer
will be avoided, because extreme attic temperatures will no longer be a concern.
My old electric fan had a thermostat. Does the SunRise?
Yes, there is a thermostat available. Unlike an electric fan, which depends on the thermostat to tell it when to come on, the SunRise uses the thermostat to tell it not to come on when the attic is already cool. It is pre-set to allow the fan to come on at 80 degrees and to go off at 65 degrees, which is particularly desirable in cool, dry climates.
How do I figure out what size to order?
A good place to start is by taking the square footage of your attic then multiplying it by .7 (point seven). This will tell you the amount of “cfm” you’ll need to move the
air. For instance, if your house is 1900 sq ft, one-story, and has a full attic and an average pitch, you’ll need 1330 cfm, and would be well-served by two SRS
850’s. The greater the volume of attic space, the more cfm you’ll need.
How do I know if I need a flat-mount or a curb-mount?
The flat-mount is easily installed on roofs with shingles
– see Instructions at the bottom of the Specifications page. The curb-mount is for specialty applications, such as flat roofs (with various toppings), and high-profile roofing materials (such as tile).
How much does shipping cost? What about taxes?
Within the 48 Continental States, regular shipping is $30 per unit. A third fan shipped at the same time to the same address qualifies for Free Shipping. If special shipping arrangements need to be made, please call our toll-free number to coordinate. Fans shipped to Texas require sales tax at the rate of 7.25%.
